BIBLE READING PLANS

Reading God's Word is an essential part for growing in your journey as a disciple of Jesus Christ.  Likewise it is essential if you are looking into who God is and the "Gospel of Jesus Christ."

  • Read through the Bible in the chronological order of events.

  • The book-at-a-time Bible reading plan provides two readings for each day.  The first reading alternates between Old and New Testament, giving you three or four chapters a day.

The second reading takes you through a chapter or so of the wisdom literature and Isaiah.  These combined readings will take you through the entire Bible in one year.

  • Robert Murray M'Cheyne (also known as McCheyne) was an early 19th century pastor and preacher in Scotland.  Among his legacy is a well-known scheme for daily Bible reading.  In its original format it takes the reader through the Old Testament once and the New Testament and Psalms twice per year.  This means reading nearly four chapters a day, taken from different parts of the Bible.
