The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead or Trinity. The Scripture declares His work of convicting man of sin (John 16:7-11) and retraining evil in the world (2 Thessalonians 2:7-8). He regenerates those who receive Jesus Christ as Savior (John 3:5-7), baptizes them into the Church (1 Corinthians 12:13) the Body of Christ; He indwells them permanently (John 14:16-17), sealing them unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30); He bestows spiritual gifts on each one which are to be exercised for the building up of the body (1 Corinthians 12:1-11), and fills those yielding to Him (Ephesians 5:18) whereby they in turn yield fruit manifesting a Christ-like character (Galatians 5:22-23).
